About the Creator
Hi! I'm Lauren Frank, an Occupational Therapy Doctoral student at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. I am so excited to share this project with you that I have been working on for two and a half years! I became interested in the practice of yoga and its benefits after attending a yoga class my first year of grad school, and ever since, I've been hooked!

Throughout my practice, I have noticed a strong connection between yoga, mindfulness, and all elements of occupational therapy; Looking deeper at the research, there was a lack of sufficient evidence supporting the use of yoga in a school system for social-emotional learning, especially from an OT perspective, so I decided to make it my capstone project!

I currently hold a certification in children's yoga through the Yoga Education Institute and completed my capstone experience at a special education school in Illinois. While there, I implemented yoga as an RTI Tier I approach during school transition periods. I am looking forward to continuing this project in the future!

I would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Petersen, OTD, OTR/L, C/NDT, C/SI for her mentorship and continued support of my idea and project from the beginning.

This project was created in conjunction with requirements for doctoral level education program.
